Starting in June, I'll start a one-year internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital here in San Diego (June 2011 - June 2012), doing mostly internal medicine and a bit of pediatrics. We're excited to not have to move far for the intern year, and I absolutely love the hospital.
In 2012 we will move up to Seattle for my radiology residency at the University of Washington Medical Center!
We are really excited. I loved my visit to Seattle and the program really felt like the perfect fit. We can't wait to become Northwesterners. I'm looking forward to a whole new world to photograph, and hopefully will get some shots like these:
We found out the news yesterday at the match day celebration on campus. The whole graduating class was there. Everyone gets an envelope with their match results. Seth opened ours.
Seth is excited to move to Seattle (as he informed many people yesterday), because "it snows sometimes there" and "Sean's going to teach me how to fish." (Sean is our friend who will also be at UW--for orthopedics. Seth is already aware that his dad doesn't know how to do things like fish, and he's already turning to others for help).

That is so exciting. Congratulations! We are excited that you gave us another year to try to come see you in SD. Pretty pathetic that we haven't made it yet.
i'm so excited for you guys. and i'm glad you were already thinking of what you may photograph up there, because i was already thinking of all the things i places i'd love you to photograph for me up there.
i miss seattle A LOT. you'll love it and will fit right in. stu needs a job at UW.
We are so excited for you too Aaron. As for the fishing advice...Seth is correct in the decision to go elsewhere for fishing advice. Just remind him that Grandpa and Grandma Rutman are not experts either... unless he would like to have a pelican eat his fish while still on the hook or catch an octopus and starfish in the crab trap instead of crabs or use the point of a Sheriff badge as a knife to cut the squid for bait. Sorry Aaron, we just were not good fishermen teachers! We did however, know how to buy great donuts and make great hot chocolate for those very cold early morning attempted fishing excursions. :)
Good deal. I have a chance of being in SD the next year too. But please take photos of something other than highways when you're in Seattle.

Seth can learn how to fish from Uncle Justin or Uncle Robert. They both know what they are doing. Im so excited for you guys! I think that the Lord is really looking out for your family to stay close to all of us by not moving you too far away. Love you guys!
